On 14th August 2011 we will be cycling 100 miles around Yorkshire to raise money for the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract.
This is a race which takes place annually, thanks to Action Medical Research, and tickled our fancy last year, when neither of us had a decent bike or any real cycling experience! Since then, we've got bikes and padded shorts, and explored miles of Yorkshire in the hope that we'd be fit enough to take part in this gruelling race!
The route will take us through the Howardian Hills and the Yorkshire Wolds - two of Yorkshire's most beautiful, and hilly (!) landscapes. We'll speed down the gloriously grand roads of Castle Howard and struggle up the gruelling Bulmer Bank, via Malton and towards the East coast, in a circular loop which should show off the best of the area's cycling!
